b vitamins: the form is the argument

b vitamins: the form is the argument

the b vitamin complex. the supplement industry cuts corners here. we did not.

every supplement label says "vitamin b6." what the label does not tell you is which form of b6 — and the form determines whether your body can use it at all, or has to convert it first.

the supplement industry defaults to the cheapest synthetic forms of b vitamins because the label reads the same regardless. the consumer cannot see the difference. we can. no. 01 synergy uses the active, bioavailable form of every b vitamin in the formula. here is what that means and why it matters.

// b2 — riboflavin

riboflavin is the precursor to FAD and FMN — the coenzyme forms that drive cellular energy metabolism across the electron transport chain. without adequate b2, ATP production slows at the mitochondrial level.

b vitamins are water-soluble. they are not stored in the body. intense training, sweat loss, and metabolic demand deplete them continuously. daily replenishment is not optional — it is the mechanism.

// b3 — niacinamide

niacinamide is the preferred form of b3. the alternative — niacin — causes vasodilation that produces a flushing response in most people: redness, heat, tingling across the skin. this happens because niacin activates a specific receptor (GPR109A) on skin immune cells that triggers the flush; niacinamide does not activate this receptor, so the flush response does not occur.

niacinamide delivers the same NAD+ precursor function — critical for energy metabolism and DNA repair — without the flush. the choice of form is the difference between a formula people use consistently and one they abandon.

// b5 — d-calcium pantothenate

b5 is essential for coenzyme A (CoA) synthesis — the molecule that sits at the intersection of carbohydrate metabolism, fat oxidation, and amino acid catabolism. every macronutrient pathway runs through CoA.

d-calcium pantothenate is the stable, bioavailable salt form. it is what the body converts pantothenic acid into before using it. starting with the converted form bypasses a metabolic step.

// b6 — pyridoxal 5-phosphate

this is the most important form decision in the b vitamin stack.

pyridoxine hydrochloride — the cheap default — is not biologically active on its own. before your body can use it, it has to run through two separate enzymatic conversions: first phosphorylated, then oxidized, before it becomes pyridoxal-5-phosphate — the actual coenzyme form your cells run on.

pyridoxal 5-phosphate skips both steps. it isn't converted into the active form. it already is the active form, ready to work the moment it's absorbed.

b6 in its active form is also directly involved in amino acid metabolism — the transamination reactions that process the EAAs in this formula. the synergy is not incidental.

biotin functions as a coenzyme for carboxylase enzymes involved in fatty acid synthesis, amino acid catabolism, and gluconeogenesis. at 1,000% DV, the dose in no. 01 synergy is intentionally high — biotin is depleted rapidly by exercise and metabolic demand, and its role in fat and amino acid processing makes it directly relevant to how the rest of this formula performs.

// b12 — methylcobalamin

cyanocobalamin is the synthetic form of b12 found in most supplements. it is cheap to produce and stable on a shelf. it also requires the body to cleave a cyanide molecule and then convert the remaining cobalamin into its active methyl form before it can be used. the cyanide released is in trace amounts — not dangerous — but the conversion step is an unnecessary inefficiency.

methylcobalamin is the active methyl form. it requires no conversion. it is the form b12 takes in human tissue. the body recognizes it immediately.

200mcg. 8,333% DV. the high percentage reflects how aggressively b12 is depleted by training and how poorly most people absorb it through diet alone.
